Introduced in early ’52, it was a dealer installed option in a lot of earlier cars once the driver or passenger (wife?) messed up their clothes… all the way up to 1954. In collectors’ circles often referred to as the “Zwitter boot”, it is period correct on all split window beetles like that.
Old samples been provided as reference to our R&I dept…. crazy rare stuff!
Black is available now under BBT 0707-001 the brown (for deluxe version) will be etched (exactly same grain as original) and is in production now…
