Since two years we do work on a very nice reproduction of the D type voltage regulator for the real early VW engines.
Our aim is to make these regulators with the closest look and feel like the original.
We will also sell the caps separately. Caps will be 100% identical and so perfect interchangeable with original D regulator caps.
Pictures below shows our test results for the caps….
Now we will stow a perfect electronic voltage regulator inside.
For later models we do manufacture and supply 6 Volt voltage regulators under BBT # 1951 off course also with a perfect interchangeable cap.

The D regulator is not finished yet, but the price will be very affordable.
If you’re interested keep an eye on our Blog, all our news about products will be always published.
We can tell only the prices or what distributor you can get it from in your area/country once we have the product officially launched.
Developinng products like this is pretty time consuming believe me…
i hope to be ready and have them available in about 6 months from now

As our blogpost states its one of the products we have in development at this time.
We do not have an estimated delivery time as we only let go in production once we’re sure we have it as correct as possible, last factory samples been disagreed as the steel cap was not like original… we’re picky!
I would suggest to keep an eye on our Blog to get further updates, but don’t expect anything within 3 months for sure, as we didn’t approve the samples so production isn’t started yet….

Thank you Bob for your reply…as I am on vacation in a week in Belgium, I had hoped to spend :-). is it possible to have details on the content of the regulator (techno, etc.) and the approximate price in MP please? (PS: cool for the design of the case which is a little too rounded on the sides :-))
We can’t give you tech details and prices yet, as we need the product first to be landed before we have total cost, research is not really cheap, we have to calculate somewhere…:)
but it will be cheap compared to an original one..
