Another Sunday at BBT…

another Sunday @ BBT HQ yesterday, Simon from UK came to BBT to swap his crew cab with a German buyer and pick up his SO23 project from us, meanwhile his buddy delivered the infamous Just Kampers Bay Window to another German guy, so all together it isn’t that bad Belgium is right in the middle between UK and Germany….:)

DSC01456_blog DSC01460_blog

The patina SO23, wouldn’t mind it stayed a little longer, crazy car, very dry and and all original, interior needs to be redone, but where You gonna find another one? congrats Simon, You picked the right thing from the (BBT) stash…:)

Two happy fellows, Simon and yours truly….

Kukies New BBQ

Kukie is doing good just bought himself a brand new BBQ, at least that’s what he told everybody….:)

New arrival… fresh out container… Super Solid Super Beetle convertible, Look this!

sometimes we get asked like how we get cars in and out containers, last week our good friend of “Da House” Dave Warren, a real professional photographer was here and made a beautiful feature of unloading a car from a container…. a rock solid 1974 super beetle (that’s 1303 for Europe) blessed with a small engine fire, (everything looks worse like it really is) and I don’t think, this baby needs that much to come back on the road… but first the unloading part!

Let the story start!

Another day in the BBT warehouse….

001 another container rolls in, straight from Dallas Texas002 on board our feature car, nicely loaded by yours truly on his last US trip, see previous Blog Posts in the travel section…

003we build a custom ramp, after all the years we became pretty handsome with the nail gun….:)
004 car had an engine fire, nothing bad, except it makes up for a cheap cheap cheap project! 004a we start to free the wheels, they’ve been blocked with side wood and wood before and after the wheel, and strapped down with ropes…005 get everything out underneath….006 then we lift the whole ramp just enough to knock the pillars from underneath, so we can sink and incline the ramp so the car can be slowly taken out without touching the doors…007 precision forklift work for the helpers, also how to lift a convertible on its rear suspension and chassis strengtheners require some experience…008… and out it is!
010 and this is how the ramp looks empty…:)011 and what is the feature car???

a 1974 Super beetle 1303 project, kind a cool and especially solid survivor, except for the floorplates…

DSC01379_blog dull paint, car stands for over 10 yearsDSC01380_blog DSC01382_blog DSC01383_blog inside as good as everywhere! DSC01384_blog strengtheners, we saw way worse! DSC01386_blog so dry inner fenders, isn’t this illegal? or only close? anyway we can handle! DSC01387_blog DSC01388_blog very cool project, and yes it is for sale, don’t let it slip away! DSC01389_blogall further information ONLY at Bob@bbt4vw.com

BBT # 0257-010 Rubber brake/clutch pedal pad  (wedge type)

After VW fined us for selling  pedal pads with VW logo seems they can’t supply themselves. We have found the only solution in the 1974 and later pedal pads, they don’t carry a VW logo so that’s no big deal but they fit all models and years… we working on the official distribution of the logo version but not ready yet, at least we have here an alternative for the time being, fits all beetles, and T25/T3 Vanagon buses…
