Going back in time; bring my bus home, where it grew up…

[bws_pdfprint]

After may 1st, we spend the night in Hannover, as we were exhausted (and getting older year by year) , after a healthy breakfast we headed of direction of Wolfsburg…

DSC01302_blog In Wolfsburg local guy and friend from every time Björn Schewe awaited us with his daily mango grun 1960 beetle…..

DSC01315_blog He guided us professionally to where we wanted to go…. where my samba bus served as passenger and radio car from 1960 till end of the seventies… the roads became smaller and smaller…..

DSC01318_blogWowh, we drove just between the gliders… my samba was so happy, I had hardly to steer… he felt he was back home believe me!

DSC01319_blogThe people from the club where real happy too! Really cool, and granted us space for a perfect picture shoot…

DSC01329_blogWith the president of the club…

DSC01334_blog The bus felt so at home You can’t believe…  she’s sitting like a natural star here!

DSC01348_blog Mandatory picture with its replacement, a T4 Syncro, “Rettungswagen” that’s about the same like what my Samba used to be…

DSC01361_blog one more, we can’t get enough…. (I think I broke my picture record for one day here!)

DSC01364_blog The radio tower that replaced the radio utility of my bus once decommissioned back in the day. (my bus used to be the radio car here back in the day at the end of its career, one of the members of this club had even an intention to build a real tower on it! Thanks God that never happened!

DSC01370_blogWelcome back home baby!

DSC01382_blog What am I doing now????

DSC01392_blog The club used to build a school glider back in the sixties…. we took that plane out (it is decommissioned for many years out of safety reasons) to make a cool picture shoot. now how cool is that?????

DSC01397_blog Double doors are look through, hah!

DSC01436_blog With greets from yours truly, having the time of his life!

DSC01441_blogCom’on cattle, back to your stables…. the old Eichner tractor (one cylinder Diesel) pulled several gliders at once…

DSC01446_blogWhat a day… and even more to come, stay tuned… these people had a really surprise for me…. I will write about it in the next days….
